Steve's brother Ken works for International Speedway Corp in
Daytona, so I have been patiently waiting for my
opportunity to score freebie race tickets. And thanks to Ken, Steve and I got to join him for the Coke Zero 400 on Fourth of July weekend. The evening started with a lot of rain and not much hope for a race, but thankfully, the skies cleared and they were able to dry the track and race anyway. Before the race, we hung out in the
Fanzone in the middle of the track. Here is pit row..

In the stands and ready for race time!

All the things that people warn you about with NASCAR races were so true: the noise, the fans, the speed, the redneck wedding proposals (we saw three) . I was a bit out of the loop (pun intended) when it comes to following the race and the drivers, but enjoyed the crashes and the excitement at the finish.
