Happy Easter 2011

Happy Easter morning!

The girls got sidewalk chalk in their baskets and wasted no time in getting to work on their sidewalk art.

I was so touched by Brooke's drawing of a cross and the word "Love" written inside. It's such a great feeling to know my kids really know why celebrate Easter.

It wouldn't be a DeMoor family gathering without a magic show!

Time for the egg hunt! Between Sharon, Jill, and myself, the kids had SO many eggs to hunt!

Sweet Tanner knows there something good inside his egg!

Funny Ali

Ali and I were in a dressing room at old navy and I was trying on dresses. After putting one on she said, "oh mommy that one's my favorite!" I told her she had great taste. She said, "I also have great smell. Smell my arm. It smells like mommy's body butter."

I was reading the story of Adam and Eve to Ali. We talked about how Adam got to name all the animals and Ali was naming the ones in the book one by one... bunny, giraffe, bird. Then I read to her that God wanted Adam to have a partner so he created Eve. Ali said, "I want my partner to be the bunny".

The girls have become pretty self-sufficient with their showers and don't need much of mommy's help anymore. The other night steve and I heard Ali yelling from the bathroom so we rushed in to see what was wrong. She was standing outside the shower, dripping wet, yelling "I'm leaking!"

Ali washes feet

I love my church! There's so much to love, but I really love their Children's Church programs. The kids always come bouncing out of their classrooms exited to share what they learned. Back in February it was the day before my birthday and Steve wathed to take the girls to the mall so they could pick out a gift for mommy. It was also Monday, the day we go to church. Brooke decided that she would rather go to church than go shopping for mommy's present! That was the best present I could have asked for. I love that Northland fosters a curiosity and passion for our kids and their faith.

A few weeks back Ali came home with a feet washing kit that she recieved in ther sunday school class. She was very eager to wash EVERYONES feet, just like Jesus did!

And don't forget Brookie!

Brooke earns her wings

If you know Brooke, then you know Brooke has a dream to fly. She describes her dream as "flying with my own wings that come out of my back", but until that day we are trying to keep her dream alive. Steve's friend Frank has a plane and offered to take Brooke up for a spin.

Uncle Frank gives Brooke some instructions

Do you speak Fana?

The family was sitting in a Popeyes for some yummy fried chicken when Brooke announced that she spoke her own language,  Fana. She began translating random words for us. This video cracks me up every time I watch it. It's the perfect combination of Brooke's creativity and Ali's silliness.
