Lemonade Stand

I won't admit how long Brooke has been asking to have a lemonade stand. Let's just say it's been a loooooong time. But we managed to get it on our summer "to-do" list and made it a priority. Since Grammy and Papa have a prime location for lemonade stands, we headed over there on a hot August afternoon for the girls to set up shop. Ali mixed up the lemonade while Brooke and Grammy whipped up some sugar cookies.

Time to set up the stand!

And time to drum up some business!

When the customers arrived, the girls were all business.

One highlight of the day was when this customer rolled by..

Not only did he buy lemonade is his super cool car, but he returned with ice cream cones for the girls!

After a fun and successful day of peddling lemonade, it's time to count up their profits.

More Mermaid Tails

With their mermaid tails just begging to swim in the pool, we made it to Grammy and Papa's for the big swim!

The tails were a big success and the girls had a blast.

Even Ryder got in on the action and took a piggy back ride on a mermaid.

Here's a video of the girls showing off their fish fever!

Mermaid tails!

Our girls are totally hooked on an Australian kids show about mermaids called H2O: Just Add Water. And our lives now revolve around mermaids as a result. They recently decided to save up their money to buy their very own mermaid tails that they could swim in. We found some on etsy made of swimsuit material and for a reasonable price. Today they arrived! Imagine the excitement at the mailbox!

Tomorrow they will get to try them out in Grammy and Papa's pool!

Meet The Teacher

We are so excited to be starting school on our new campus. For the past three years that we have been a part of ICS, our school has been renting a church property. Now we have our very own campus and this is a big deal!

Now teachers can hang student work on the walls, there's more opportunity for after school activities, and all grade levels K-12 will be in one place! We were so excited for Meet The Teacher day. It was our first day on the new campus!

Meet Mrs. Thompson, Ali's new First Grade teacher!
Ali has had the pleasure of being in Mrs. Thompson's class before. She taught Ali in Ezone Backyard Science last year. Mrs. Thompson is a sweet, patient teacher with a very gentle spirit.

Ali finds her seat and works on her activity.

Meet Mrs. Champion and Mrs. DeGeus! In third grade Brooke will have two teachers. Mrs. Champion will teach Bible, English, and Cursive and Mrs. DeGeus will teach Math, Science and History.

Brooke gets comfy in her new classroom while Ali and Ryder keep her company.

It's going to be a great year!

Summer Splash Park Fun!

This summer gave us two trips to splash parks to meet up with friends and enjoy some wet fun in the hot summer sun!

Ryder's first trip to the splash park! He does not let a little water fountain get in the way of his thumb sucking.

Ali's sweet friend, Avery. We met up with Ali's kindergarten buds at the Lake Mary splash park.

Then later on in the summer we went to a different splash park in Lake County with our friends, The Lavendars.

Camping with the Moloneys

A while back I had asked Sarah what was something she had never done before but really wanted to. Her answer: Camping!! I couldn't believe this former Girl Scout had never been camping in a tent before! It became a priority for us to make it happen. So in the middle of summer we pitched a tent in the back yard and made a campfire. Maybe not the best timing, considering the heat..

We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows, told a few ghost stories, listened to music and had a great time. But when it was time to go to sleep the kids were so incredibly hot in the tent. They ended up coming inside and sleeping in the house. Hopefully we can try again with cooler weather.
