Horsey rides in the airport

While we were in the airport waiting to board our plane flight for home, the girls got a little nutty. They had been buckled into the car for 2-hours on the way to the airport and needed to let loose. I knew they were going to have to sit still for another 2 hours on the plane so I was trying to let them get their wiggles out (by the way, a 2-year old never runs out of wiggles). Brooke started giving Ali horsey rides and it was cracking me up. Usually their too busy pulling each others hair out to realize they can actually enjoy each others company. They had a lot of fun, but eventually Brooke took a nose dive for the floor and we ended up in tears. Well, it was fun while it lasted! :)

Leavin' on a jet plane.. don't know when I'll be back again!

The girls and mom and I flew to Illinois for a quick visit this past weekend. Steve was up there hunting, and it gave us a chance to visit with Grandma Simmens and Sara and her family. The girls were amazing on the plane. Ali has some volume control issues sometimes, but sitting in the noisy back-end of the plane seemed to muffle her. :)

Brooke got to go hunting with Steve one afternoon and Steve and I got to go out and celebrate our 10th anniversary on Friday night!

Messy Ali

I love this picture of Ali. It is a perfect reflection of my silly, messy, fun-loving little girl. We were at Mom's for Steph's birthday party and Ali went a little nuts with the ice cream cake.

Halloween for the Grown Ups

Steve and I got to go out for some grown-up Halloween fun on Saturday night. My friend Katy had a Halloween party at her house so we tried to scrounge up some costumes. We hit the after-Halloween sales but didn't find much. So at the last minute (literally) we threw together a cowgirl outfit for me and Steve went as Brett Michaels (complete with MANdana and GUYliner). His costume was really pretty good and quite appropriate since Steve is stuck in the 80's anyway.

Halloween FUN!

We had a busy Halloween this year. I wouldn't have it any other way though. The kids love wearing their costumes and we always have a good time. The night before Halloween we went to a Trunk or Treat put on my my moms group from church. We set up in the parking lot of a Chick fil A and had a firetruck, a fun bus, and then all the cars lined up for Trunk or Treating. This year Brooke dressed up as Rapunzel and Ali was a cat (our Ali-cat of course).

Then on Halloween night we joined the Shelleys for some trick or treating. We had a big crowd with the Clines and Stewarts joining us as well. Ali had a blast and could not get enough of the whole trick or treating concept. Brooke had a rough night unfortunately. She tripped a couple of times on her dress and wore out pretty quick. Luckily, Uncle Joe was following us around the neighborhood with his ATV and a trailer full of hay so we could relax on the way back to the house.

Halloween Candy House

I had a momentary loss of sanity while in Joann's the other day and bought a Halloween Candy house kit for me and the girls to put together. It SEEMED like a good idea at the time!! Within the first few minutes I was covered in black frosting, trying to prop up three gingerbread walls, and include the kids at the same time. Unfortunately I had to put Ali down for a nap in order to regain control of the situation. But it turned out to be a fun time for Brooke and I to work on it alone together. She's always asking me for time with just mommy, and she doesn't get it as often as she should. So this was nice. And once I got those four walls upright and realized that jelly beans are too heavy to stick to the sides of the house, we had a blast.
