Butterfly Release

Brooke got a Butterfly Treehouse back in March and being the busy bodies that we are, we never got around to ordering the caterpillars. Fast forward nine months and we finally did it! The caterpillars came in the mail in a little jar and over the next few days they grew in size and entered into their chrysalises, and then eventually hatched as beautiful painted lady butterflies. The day we were supposed to release them was also the day Uncle Dave, Aimee and mark were visiting out home from Australia. We took them on a boat ride (I drove since Steve was at work and it was far to stressful to be enjoyable). When we got back to the house Brooke brought her butterfly tree house out to set them free.

This one was nice enough to pose for a picture before it flew away. This was a very cool project and we will definitely be ordering more caterpillars so we can do this again. She was so excited to watch the changes every day.
