Steve and I are training for an adventure race in January with www.pangeaadventureracing.com. It is a team race that involves orienteering while biking, trekking and canoeing through the wilderness. Since neither of us have much experience with the orienteering part, we decided to go to an orienteering event to practice our skills. We took the girls with us thinking it would be a fun family day in the woods. Hmmm, not so much. The complaining started shortly after we began and it wasn't long before Steve and I were each carrying a kid. Which gave us the great idea to suggest that future adventure races should include an added layer of difficulty by requiring you to bring and carry a young child through the woods while racing. In the end, I did have a good time and learned a lot, but the girls will tell you we tortured them in the woods that day. I required them to pose for these "cute" pictures as their penance.
Where are we and how do we get out of here??!!

I don't know! I guess we'll just live in the woods forever.
